Dr. Lopez is dual-trained in pediatric craniofacial surgery and head & neck oncologic surgery from world-renown institutions. As a plastic surgery resident at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, he was trained by world-leaders in plastic surgery who were pioneers in craniofacial trauma and reconstruction. As a craniofacial fellow at the Yale-New Haven Children’s Hospital, he was trained by national leaders in craniofacial, orthognathic and cleft surgery. As a head and neck oncologic surgery fellow at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City, he was trained by internationally renowned head & neck surgical oncologists.
This unique training provides Dr. Lopez with a distinctive set of skills and knowledge to provide sophisticated care to children with complex head and neck conditions. As a craniofacial surgeon, he utilizes the latest technology and tools to optimize aesthetic results in children while incorporating minimally-invasive techniques to reduce surgery in children. And as a cancer surgeon, he works in a multi-disciplinary manner to develop a curative treatment plan that has the least impact on a child’s self-esteem, function and future growth.
Dr. Lopez seeks to become the childhood cancer survivor’s surgeon for life; helping children flourish into adolescents and adults.
